01 What

Designed and built Nutri AI end to end: a free, nonprofit web app that lets anyone log meals, ask nutrition questions and track their health, instead of leaving that support to athletes with a personal nutritionist. I took ownership of product, design, front end, back end and the AI layer, and shipped it live.

02 How
  1. 01Built the app in React and TypeScript on a Supabase back end (database, auth and 17 edge functions), deployed on Vercel.
  2. 02Added voice and text meal logging: the AI estimates calories and nutrients, and asks one short question when a meal is too vague to estimate.
  3. 03Built an Ask AI coach, 7-day meal plans and grocery lists on the Anthropic Claude API.
  4. 04Kept health alerts rule-based, so a flag such as a sodium limit comes from a rule engine, not from free-form model advice.
  5. 05Managed the code in GitHub repositories with Git, from branches and commits to pull requests and releases to production.
03 Result
  • -Live at nutriai.today, free to use, with no email needed to create an account.
  • -Voice logging, AI chat, macro and micronutrient tracking, alerts and weekly planning in one app.
  • -Sustainable by design: a fixed AI budget today, with ad-funded credits planned if usage grows.
